This is the second year Kauai has hosted The Kauai Senior Games since pickleball was introduced to the Hawaii Senior Games in 2015, the first being held in Kona.
Where and when can you play pickleball on Kauai?
You can play free pickleball every day of the week at some venue on Kauai. Two years ago, the only venue was the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Now, we have eight venues offering play — Kekaha, Hanapepe, Kalaheo, Koloa, Lihue, Kapaa, Kilauea and Princeville.  Also, there are many private venues offering play.
Interested persons can go to www.kauaipickleball.shutterfly.com to see all that Kauai has to offer.

Super Seniors International Pickleball Association (SSIPA) is about to come alive in 2017.
The Mission of the Super Senior International Pickleball Association is to support the growth of Pickleball around the world, through a social, competitive environment for players of all skill levels ages 65 plus.
SSIPA will be promoting competition for Super Seniors ages 65 plus in age groups of 65-69,70-74, 75-79, and 80+. Several tournaments will be held in 2017. This competitive format will allow Super Seniors to compete with each other rather than being randomly combined with younger players with differing skills.

International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA)

International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) is the world leader in developing teaching standards in the sport of Pickleball.

When an instructor meets those standards they are awarded certification.

The International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) certify and set the standard for teaching excellence in the sport. Pickleball is exploding not only in the United States but globally as well. We felt it was important that those players who were seeking instruction would have comfort in knowing their instructor had met some level of minimum standards.
All too often we find tennis coaches giving pickleball lessons by simply teaching tennis with a paddle. There are too many people exploiting the popularity of pickleball by providing lessons but are unfamiliar with the rules of the game, basic stroke development, shot selection and strategies specific to pickleball. One of the reasons for creating a not-for-profit organization was guaranteeing that those players who are willing to pay for instruction are being taught by an instructor who has gone through a rigorous four-part testing program meeting minimum competency levels. We currently provide liability insurance for them and medical insurance for their students.
In order to maintain IPTPA certification status, members must earn two continuing education units (CEUs) per year. These can be earned by attending online and live workshops provided by the association
or by submitting articles or videos of instruction that are accepted and published on the association’s website. For those of you interested in pursuing a coaching career in pickleball, please visit our website, http://www.iptpa.com
